Joy Parsons Retterer, 59, of Marion, passed away, at 3:34 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in the Marion General Hospital, Marion, Ohio. Born September 1, 1964, in El Paso, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Eunice M. Gonzales Parsons and Carl (Nancy) Parsons, who survive in Radnor, Ohio. She was the manager of Scioto Valley Services, and she was member of the Friends of the V.F.W. Post 870 Richwood, Ohio.
In addition to her father she is survived by her daughter, Rachel Lynn (Dustin) Johnson, of Green Camp, Oh., sons, Dustin Shane (Faye) Retterer, Big Island, Oh., and Joshua Michael (Amanda) Retterer, of Galion, Oh., grandchildren, Ella Grace Retterer, and Jacob and Gabriel Webb. Sisters, Selah (Benny) Bencomo, of Barid, New Mexico, and Louella Mae (Danny) Sparks, of Richwood, Oh., a brother, Perry Ray (Linda) Parsons, of Marysville, Oh., nieces, Kiera and Kennedy Parsons, and who she called “her third son” Colton Retterer.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
