Jenetta Opal Means, age 97, made her journey to Heaven on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. She passed peacefully with her family by her side.

Jenetta is survived by sons James Means (Barbara); Clayton Means; Kimberly Means (Cynthia); daughters Pat Mace Walker and Tina Russell (William); 6 grandchildren: Angela Hicks (Mark), Chanon Richardson, Christopher Means (Rachel), Phillip Means, Melissa Means, Bill Russell (Meghan); 13 great-grand-children (Alex, Brandon, Brianna, Colton, Darienne, Dillon, Ella, Emma, Kody, Lyla, Mikel, Tyler, Zachary); sisters Doris Ramsburg and Rose Madden; sisters-in-law Claudia Sammataro and Edna Mace; brother-in-law David Means.

Reunited with Jenetta in Heaven are her beloved husband of nearly 73 years, James M. Means, (Bishop, Pine Top Church of God); parents Henry Emanuel Mace and Ethel Dora Durham Mace; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Reynolds Means and Edith Kidd Means; grand-daughter Michele Means; great-granddaughter Caitlin Means; daughter-in-law Jacqueline Means; son-in-law H.D. Walker; sister Beulah Stewart; brother Alvin Mace; sisters-in-law Lorine Brogan and Mary Elizabeth Hudson Latham; brothers-in-law Frank Sammataro, Gerald Hudson, Creighton Brogan, Harold Ramsburg, Don Madden, Tom Stewart.

Jenetta was a member of the Pine Top Church of God in Charleston, West Virginia, where she supported her husband as a pastor’s wife for approximately 16 years. She devoted her life to her family and community, nursing the sick back to health and helping others in any way that she could. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who loved her family more than anything in the world. Jenetta enjoyed singing and playing the autoharp, decorating, and gardening. She will be deeply missed.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Rutland Freewill Baptist Church located at 44 Salem Street, Rutland, Ohio 45775. A funeral service officiated by Reverend Ed Barney will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Rutland Church. Burial will be at the Miles Cemetery in Rutland.

Services are entrusted to the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, 800 West Main Street, Pomeroy, OH 45769. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Top Church of God, 1619 Kenwood Road, Charleston, WV 25314, or to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
