Richard D. “Rick” Barnes, 59, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Ohio State University Medical Center.
Born on January 3, 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio, Rick was the son of Ronald Barnes who survives him in Crown City, Ohio and the late Alma Elaine Sanders Barnes. Rick graduated from Hannan Trace High School, worked maintenance at Bellisio Foods in Jackson, Ohio, and enjoyed woodworking. He was a big University of Kentucky basketball fan.
Rick is survived by his companion of over twenty years, Gracie Dotson of Gallipolis; son, Ricky Barnes (Bridgett Garrett) of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; stepdaughters, Helen Dotson of Gallipolis and Nellie Dotson of Kentucky; grandchildren, Elon Barnes and Kylie Holt; sister, Rhonda (Jim) McCarty of Crown City; nephews, Travis McCarty and Kayleb McCarty; and beloved dog, Rocky.
The Funeral Service for Rick will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit prior to the service Monday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
