Marlyn L. "Marty" Haner, 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Marlyn was born on February 8, 1941 in Lawrence County, Ohio, son of the late William Lester and Nora Faye Myers Haner. Marlyn was retired from AEP Gavin Plant and enjoyed attending church.
He was married to Penny Kay Long Haner, and she preceded him in death. Marlyn is survived by two sons, Steve (Sally) Haner of Louisville, Kentucky and Mark (Stacy) Haner of Racine, Ohio; one daughter, Gail (Scott) Fannin of Ashland, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Cory, Courtney, Curtis, and James; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Retha Mae Parcell, Beva Faye Hardy, and Norma Rose Jeffers.
The funeral service for Marlyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Parcell officiating. His burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
