Description:Crow's Steak House (Crow's Family Restaurant) was started in 1957, by Thomas Crow, D.D.S. and his two sons, Robert H. and Thomas D. Crow. The facility was remodeled from a gas station with the capacity of 13 stools and 2 booths, resulting in a total seating capacity of 21. This was the first experience the family had in the food servie business. Early in 1960, Kentucky Fried Chicken was added, and Colonel Harland Sanders rolled up his sleeves and instructed this part of the restaurant personally. The family has always felt that this was the turning point of their facility. A drive-in facility was also added thios same year. In 1961, a dining room, adding 49 seats, was added. Bob and Tom Crow, both think that Colonel Sanders is the most outstanding person, both as a man and a food specialist, and attribute much of their success to him, as well as quality food, and most of all the guidance of "God, good parents, family, employees, and friends."

Clyde Norris, East Letart, Ohio
"As part of the war effort, the government rationed foods like sugar, butter, milk, cheese, eggs, coffee, meat, and canned goods. Labor and transportation shortages made it hard to harvest and move fruits and vegetables to market. So, government turned to its citizens and encouraged them to plant "Victory Gardens". They wanted individuals to provide their own fruits and vegetables." [show more]
