Johnnie R. Hayes, Reedsville, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2023, in Marietta Memorial
Hospital.
Born September 16, 1950, in Nitro, WV., the son of Mary G. Hayes and the late
James M. Hayes. Johnnie was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He went to Ohio University,
worked for Whitmore Cable, and retired for Ohio-WV Lottery.
He also was a member of American Legion Post 21, Athens AMVETS Post 76, and a lifetime member of 40/8 AMVETS.
He is survived in addition to his mother, a son William (BJ) Allman of Albany,
a grandson Aayden Jeffrey and Easton Hayes Allman; a sister Sue (Ken) Caldwell, brother Bill (Stephanie) Hayes,
many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Jim A. Hayes, and a sister Linda Lou
Shamblin.
Services will be Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with Military Services by
Albany VFW Post 93, and K.T. Crossen American Legion Post 21. Visitation is Saturday 12:00 P.M. to
2:00 P.M. prior to services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help
with funeral expenses.
