Opal Barcus, 92, of Crown City, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Holzer Senior Care.
Born on June 1, 1931 in Gallia County, Ohio, Opal was the daughter of the late Harry and Murlie Johnson Drummond. On November 28, 1953, Opal married Charles Lee Barcus; he preceded her in death on July 24, 2011. Opal had attended Elizabeth Chapel Church.
Opal is survived by two daughters, Shirley Beaver of Gallipolis and Bobbie (Jeff) Cook of Crown City; one son, Kenny (Tammi) Barcus of Crown City; three grandsons, T.C. (Jillian) Beaver, Matthew (Emily) Beaver, and Harry Hudson; six great grandchildren, Dacoda Charles Hudson, Eloise, Matilda, Thor, Siddalee, and Cora Beaver; and one sister, Nancy Warren of Gallipolis. She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Robert Hudson and Thomas Beaver; a great granddaughter, Bee Beaver; four sisters, Edith May Drummond, Minnie Harrison, Myrtle Kemper, and Amy Sexton; and five brothers, Arthur, Marshal, Harley, Clifford, and John Drummond.
The funeral service for Opal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Carnes and Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service Friday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
