Doris “Eileen” Willis, 86, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Eileen was born on July 29, 1936 in Gallia County, OH, daughter of the late Harry Harold and Virginia Irene Miller Unroe.

Eileen was a dedicated homemaker, as well an avid community volunteer and advocate. She attended Grace United Methodist Church and Bulaville Christian Church. Eileen was a member of American Legion’s Lafayette Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She cleaned, improved, and revitalized cemeteries, as well as cleaned the “The Spirit of the American Doughboy” monument that honors WWI veterans in the Gallipolis City Park. In addition to Eileen’s tireless outpouring to her community, she loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Eileen is survived by her four daughters, Sarah “Sally” (Steve) Stapleton of Crown City, OH, Diane Jones of Gallipolis, OH, Virginia Eileen Brown of Athens, OH, and Melissa Harbour-Kratish of Panama City, FL; one son, Harold “Buddy” Harbour of Gallipolis, OH; one brother Rex (Pauline) Unroe of Gallipolis, OH; seven grandchildren, Adam (Merissa) Stapleton, Cory (Kassey) Jones, Michaela Hall, Alek Moyal, Mackenzie (Jacob) Gilmore, Darcie Harbour, and Jonathan Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Dixie Jones, Carson Jones, Trevor Jones, and Barrett Gilmore. Eileen is preceded in death by her husband, George V. Willis; two brothers, Emerson Unroe and Harry Harold Unroe, Jr; and by two infant siblings.
